Alright, a few updates are in order.
A Little Unforeseen Renovation
First of all, if you're checking the site out regularly, you've noticed the changes to the aesthetic of the place. You've also noticed that the landing page is now a bunch of windows you can drag around and resize instead of a collection of floating icons. This was not on purpose: I accidentally overwrote the main CSS file for my site and could not figure out how to reproduce it. It was some flash of genius, some opportunistic exploit from which I gleaned the inspiration to make the fish float in that particular configuration. There is no tutorial for it. It's gone.
There's probably some other way to make it happen, but it was my inability to reproduce the supposed results of any tutorial I followed which engendered the jury-rigged landing you saw before.
So, I did something different. Ultimately more complicated, but it's fun. It's quirky. I like it. It does NOT work on mobile, and I'm okay with that. Get rid of your damn smartphone.
The Political Scheme
I did not get hired for city council. Again! Alas. Perhaps lucky they should have spurned me so often this year, as that very city council under fire for even thinking about allowing AI-related data centers into our city. Disgusting. I'll replace them, I have a feeling. One way or another. The fire of change is lit beneath the townsfolk. Justice is needed. I hear the call.
As I write, smoke from the Canadian wildfires has once again rolled through the city. The haze is visible before the end of the block; the sun is a red dot which you can almost look directly at without worry. Horrid. The city already smells like sewage, and now it smells like sewage and poorly-maintained woodfire. It burns the eyes and throat. Stay indoors, if you can. Please.
Down to Business
Business? What business? Alas, such ventures have been put on pause. I couldn't quite figure out how to proceed.
Lucky, Luckier, And Yet Luckier
I am a lucky person. I have always been a lucky person in many ways, and my misfortunes can often be traced back to decisions I made and mental barriers blockading me from grabbing life by the horns. Such misfortunes may come about again but already I realize I am lucky. I have been lucky. I will be even luckier in the future. This is my declaration; I have already felt the internal machinery realign, felt the scraping of the gears and cogs, the sparks of steel-on-stone. The machine is running. I am a lucky person.
See here what I will do now.
