There's a Lot of Wonder Out There

Books, Movies, Video Games, Music... but that's not all there is, is there? No, some things defy categorization. ...or, at least, defy the minimal categorization options I choose when making this section and I refuse to change it now!

Anyway, so this section is just whatever else I think you should check out. Things that maybe won't change the world, but will at least change your day. Hopefully for the better.

Hundred Pushups Challenge

The Hundred Pushups Challenge has been around since 2009 and still seems to be going strong. I did it, once, and I've gotten back into it again. The website provides a fairly minimal training plan based on the results of your initial attempt to do as many pushups as you can - six weeks, three days a week, and the intensity ramps up over time in terms of both set size and size breadth. It's hard, but that's a good thing in my opinion. I probably wouldn't be interested in exercise if it were easy!

There are a bunch of related challenges that you can find linked on their site, including squats, sit ups, lunges, planks, pull ups, and dips.

Complete Stretching

If you need to stretch (and you do) but don't know what a stretching routine should even include, this has you covered. There are a lot of free stretching routines all across the internet but I decided to take a chance on this paid one - and I'm glad I did. It's basic, but in a good way - this is a guide to staying mobile your whole life, not a guide to becoming a contortioninst (although, I've never considered looking into that... hm...). There are dynamic stretches, static stretches, and some good advice for doing them right.

JapanesePod101

If you have ever tried to learn Japanese, you have probably come across JapanesePod101. For a while there they were kinda everywhere in the space, through ads and freebies and all sorts of stuff. Now, they have a free version, but if you have the means to shell out for the ~$200/biannual tier, I recommend it. I was using their service for years and it was the best I've seen my Japanese improve outside of literally moving to the country. I don't use them currently, but unless things have changed significantly in the past year, they're one of the best options you have for learning the language.

JapanesePod101 is part of a wider network of language-learning enterprises, none of which I have tried and so cannot vouch for. But if you want to learn a language other than Japanese, they still might be worth looking into.
